"From the City Council and the Garbage Collection Service, what we want is for the town to stay clean and that is everyone's responsibility," said Mari Carmen Guillén.The misuse of containers also extends to that of litter bins, where on many occasions bags full of garbage are left, which make them useless.

Mari Carmen Guillén, Councilor for Municipal Services and Waste Management, has indicated that the consequences of this behavior affect the image of Torre Pacheco, and the environment, increasing the cost of garbage collection, remembering that STV Gestión carries out daily tasks cleaning and disinfection of containers, inside and out, to prevent the proliferation of insect pests and bad odors, pointing out that unfriendly behaviors of this type, negatively impact our quality of life.In addition, he recalled that the Ecoparque service is available to residents in Torre Pacheco and Roldán, as well as the door-to-door service for businesses in the municipality, where STV workers pick up the cardboard from companies that request the service.For its part, the Local Police is reinforcing the controls on these behaviors to try to eradicate uncivic and potentially dangerous acts by creating unhealthy situations aggravated by the existence of COVID-19.

Acts by citizens such as depositing bags out of containers, as well as waste, objects or taking furniture out into the street, will be sanctioned.
