The mayor Antonio León and the councilor for Emergencies and NNTT responsible for the area of ??Transport, Juan Salvador Sánchez have held a video-meeting with the director general of Mobility and the Coastline, Marina Munuera and several technicians for passenger transport of the Ministry in order to analyze different options for efficient passenger transport between Torre Pacheco and Hospital Los Arcos, compared to the current concession-on-demand model.The mayor has stated that "on April 12, 2018, a motion on the study was approved in the Regional Assembly and takes into consideration the maintenance and expansion of the bus service between Torre Pacheco and the Los Arcos del Mar Menor University Hospital," He recalled that in November 2018 the Plenary of the City Council unanimously approved the request for the implementation of this regular transport line.The councilor for his part stated that "being the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure the competent in intercity transport in the Region of Murcia we have thought it convenient to hold such a meeting and request information on the status of implementation of the agreement of the aforementioned motion."In the course of the meeting, several proposals have been made to have a service that adapts to the real demand of residents who travel to Los Arcos Hospital, both for outpatient visits and for visits.Among all the proposals made and seeing that some of them had a difficult competence, the general director has committed to the study of a line that provides passenger service from the municipalities of Torre Pacheco and Los Alcázares with the Hospital Los Arcos, placing us at a Subsequent meeting between all parties to continue advancing in the implementation of said service.Finally, both the mayor and the councilor have made special insistence to the director general of Mobility and the technicians attending the meeting, that the municipality of Torre-Pacheco, sixth in number of inhabitants in the region, have a prominent place in the new Concessional map of regional passenger transport, paying special attention to the request of Dolores de Pacheco, and returning to routes and stops that in recent years have disappeared from towns such as San Cayetano, Balsicas and El Jimenado.
