Today, September 21, World Alzheimer's Day is commemorated, the Torre Pacheco City Council wants with the symbolic act of lighting the emblematic roundabout of the communities with lilac, to show its support for the AFAL Cartagena and region association, which has been 25 years working for people with Alzheimer's disease, the last 5 in the municipality of Torre Pacheco, performing non-pharmacological therapies and support services for users and their families, currently they perform rehabilitation therapy services and support for caregivers. This day allows to give visibility to all the people who suffer from this terrible disease.
We cannot forget or fail to mention all the other associated pathologies such as genetic dementias, Lewis bodies or frontotemporal dementias, among many others.Historical needs only increase, all efforts are appreciated, however, they are insufficient to provide quality of life for people affected by Alzheimer's and support for their families.AFAL Cartagena and region works day by day with the sole purpose of improving the quality of life of both users and family members.
