The Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León, along with members of the Municipal Corporation, has held a meeting with the new Manager of the Consortium for Solid Waste Management of the Region of Murcia (COGERSOL), Javier Herrero, in order to work on improving waste management and the proper functioning of selective collection.Antonio León, has welcomed the new manager of the Consortium for the management of Solid Waste of the Region of Murcia, and has thanked this presentation visit; Likewise, it has been reported that the Torre Pacheco City Council together with 40 municipalities in the Region of Murcia is part of this Consortium.
Highlighting the importance of the citizen knowing the process and treatment of a waste from when it is deposited in the container until the end of the process, valuing the environmental awareness of the residents of the municipality, and remembering that Torre Pacheco is one of the municipalities in the Region of Murcia that have one of the highest rates of waste recycling, reiterating the importance of selective collection.Javier Herrero, has also highlighted the good data of the municipality of Torre Pacheco, in terms of selective collection, which places the municipality above the regional average.
In addition, he has reported on the new challenges of the entity, such as incorporating the management of organic waste corresponding to the fifth container, improving the management of paper-cardboard and raising the recycling rate, all together with the dissemination and citizen awareness.
