Lucía Mercader, held a meeting with the mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León, the Councilor for Culture, Raúl Lledó, and the librarian Juana María Sánchez, to talk about her work and her concerns.
The mayor wanted to congratulate her on her initiative and encouraged her to continue writing, an occasion that she took to encourage young people to read, write and visit the library.
For her part, Lucía delivered two signed copies of her book to make them available to the residents of the municipality at the Municipal Public Library."The Lucia that everyone knows is quiet, submissive and calm.
In" Here It Always Rains ", there is the Lucia that nobody knows, the one who does not shut up, screams.
The one who does not give in, fights.
The revolutionary, the one who wants to change the world "This is how the young writer defines herself."Here It Always Rains", according to its author, "was born due to that need to express everything that has been silent for many years.
Because I have always been wearing a handkerchief that silenced my words and drowned out my screams.""I want to cry because I feel like it", a phrase by the great poet García Lorca, would be perfect to describe the book, according to Lucía, "because, although you find love and friendship here, you will find a greater need: the need to cry whenever you need it.
Because not being well is not bad.
"Like many young people, Lucía Mercader approached poetry thanks to her teacher of Spanish Language and Literature in 1st of ESO; "She was the person who gave me that little push and sent me to write any kind of poem.
However, neither she nor I knew that that little poem, written in just five minutes, was going to have the consequence that I did not drop the pen.
not for a second, and to hold onto poetry, and make it my best friend.
" "Here it always rains, it has been written since the first time I fell while riding my bike, from the first suspense exam, from each and every one of the decisions that I have been making today", Lucia tells us. In these moments that we are living, Lucía Mercader, wanted to encourage all people, regardless of their age, to try this wonderful literary genre, both reading and writing.
"I was not born with a poem under my shoulder, everything is a matter of reading and practice," says Lucía Mercader.
