| To avoid damage from torrential rains | As reported by the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, the Community of Irrigators of Campo de Cartagena, as well as the Torre Pacheco City Council itself, are jointly carrying out actions to reopen and clean channels and drainage channels, in anticipation of possible rains torrential nature and in order to minimize risks and prevent possible floods.Specifically this morning, the mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León, accompanied by the president of the Community of Irrigators of Campo de Cartagena, Manuel Martínez, have held a meeting and supervised the actions that are being carried out in the canal Parallel to the La Toma and Chacón road, the Post-Transfer service road at the entrance to Torre Pacheco.

 Manuel Martínez, has reported that from the Irrigation Community, different actions are being addressed to prevent and minimize the risks of flooding throughout the municipality, pointing out those carried out in Dolores de Pacheco, cleaning of canals in the east and west of Santa Rosalía, and the cleaning of the channels in the RADAR area, among others, highlighting the intervention in this channel parallel to the Jimenado highway, in addition to carrying out actions throughout the region.

The president of the Irrigation Community wanted to thank the City Council for its collaboration and willingness to implement these actions that are so necessary for the municipality, assessing the actions that are being carried out at the municipal level.A series of actions, which, as Martínez has emphasized, must continue to be kept in good condition in the event of torrential rains, highlighting the importance of carrying out an exhaustive study to protect Torre Pacheco in case of rains, in order to avoid the waters that They come from outside the area, pointing out that this is the only way to avoid access problems and floods.It is a series of very necessary actions in the municipality, not only for the prevention of floods, avoiding the obstruction of the water passages and ordering the course of the same, but also with the aim of improving the image of the rural environment and urban, as León has pointed out.
