The Extraordinary Plenary session tomorrow, Friday, November 20, votes a budget modification that aims to provide € 120,000, all of the money that has not been spent on the Torre Pacheco Patron Saint Festivities last October, for the creation of a direct line of aid to commerce and hospitality.The Department of Finance and Commerce are finalizing the details of this call, which will be done following the example of other City Councils in our country, which have established successful systems of direct aid to these sectors via calls for grants.In the case of Torre Pacheco, the direct endowment will be made within the framework of the Christmas decoration contest.
In this way, and imitating successful initiatives of other municipalities such as Marbella or Córdoba, the council will launch next week some bases for those businesses and hoteliers that decorate their premises and terraces, establishing prizes of 1500, 1200 and 1000 euros (1st prize , 2nd prize and 3rd prize) by category - hospitality and commerce -, which the jury considers to be the three best in their field, while the establishments that register and decorate their establishment with lighting and Christmas motifs will receive a direct second prize of € 450 for your participation.
The measure is expected to benefit 250 companies in the municipality.In this way, the City Council encourages merchants and hoteliers, who have always bet on the Christmas campaign as the key to saving the year, have one more incentive to decorate their premises, in addition to providing this direct help in such difficult times for everyone.The City Council also prepares, in parallel to the launch of these direct grants, a powerful communication campaign to promote local commerce and enhance the value of face-to-face purchases, with the broadcast of videos and spots on local television and networks social services, as well as the special coverage by Radio Municipal and Channel 1 of the campaign to promote commerce and hospitality in our municipality.The bases and instructions to participate in the contest will be published over the next few days on the municipal social networks and websites.Photography: Pedro Azorín
