The regionally owned highway that connects Cartagena with Torre Pacheco, RM-F36, has once again claimed another fatality, joining the many that have occurred in the short cursed section between the towns of Torre Pacheco and La Palma, remembering that night of February 5, 2017 in which 5 young people from the town lost their lives.The intense traffic that this road supports, not only because of the natural communication with Cartagena but also because of the high agricultural activity, the multitude of service roads and Post-Transfer roads that intertwine, added to the lack of La Palma bypass it causes drivers to circumvent that crossing by using alternatives that induce confusion as to the priority at the intersections.For this reason, the Mayor of Torre Pacheco once again reminds the Autonomous Community of its responsibility in the adoption of solutions, which all pass through the unfolding of the road, in which the first section is already made between Cartagena and Venta Valero, missing the remaining 8 kilometers to the Pachequero nucleus, including the La Palma bypass and two roundabouts: one of them at the point where the accident occurred and which would be the starting point of the Palma ring road and its northern link, and another roundabout in La Hita, the busiest point in the municipality currently regulated by traffic lights, and whose project has been on the table of the Director General of Roads for many years.
