The mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León and the president of the Association of People with Disabilities Prometheus, Ascensi n M ndez have signed the renewal of the collaboration agreement that the City Council and Prometheus maintain. In this way, the Prometheus association receives a financial contribution of 85,000 euros to support the training of people with disabilities, through the development of the Project "Training Actions for Labor Integration of People with Disabilities, year 2020 ", aimed at promoting the labor integration of people with some type of disability and the development of a psychosocial and labor orientation program, also monitoring the worker through a prevention and promotion plan for health and rehabilitation, promoting personal, social and work development of the same, and favoring a general improvement in their quality of life. According to Ascensi n M ndez, president of Prometeo, thanks to this subsidy, through the Special Employment Center those users who present skills and abilities in some of the sectors that the center, such as gardening, crafts and cleaning, in order to enter the labor market.

In addition, the president of Prometheus wanted to recall that today "Disability Day" the Association celebrates it with activities and with a slogan made by users "The greatest virus is discrimination and the best vaccine is social inclusion "a message from PROMETEO for all society on International Disability Day. For his part, the Mayor has also made reference to the celebration of the International Day of Disability, valuing the work of the Municipality Associations that work for the social integration of people with disabilities f physical and organic, for equal rights and opportunities.

He also highlighted the collaboration between the Torre Pacheco City Council and Prometeo in the projects that are developed in our municipality and the great work carried out by the Association, as well as the dedication to achieve integration n employment of people with disabilities, promoting not only personal development, but also social and work development, favoring the improvement of the quality of life.
