This morning the collaboration agreement was signed between the Torre Pacheco City Council and the Friendship and Solidarity Association with the Saharawi Mar Menor People; Antonio Le ny Roc o Solano, president of the Association signed this agreement, renewing the collaboration that has existed for years, with a subsidy of 3,000 euros. With this agreement, the Torre Pacheco City Council collaborates in the programming of related activities in the level of awareness-raising about the Saharawi cause and cooperation.
This year due to the health crisis derived from COVID-19, as it was not able to carry out the Vacations in Peace Program, municipal aid has focused on sending a solidarity caravan with food. The Association Friendship and Solidarity with the Sahrawi People Mar Menor, develops awareness activities and sensitization on the Sahrawi cause, also launches the Peace Vacations Program.
Informative talks with host families to facilitate coexistence and integration between cultures, as well as to inform about the situation in which these children live in their place of origin, their health and nutritional deficiencies, are other activities they develop.
In addition, the Association sends material through "Solidarity Caravans".
