The event chaired by the mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio Le ny and by the director of C ritas Torre Pacheco, Jos Garc a, was attended by the Councilor for Social Services, Mar a Jos L pez . The current situation derived from the health crisis has made 373 families use C ritas Torre Pacheco, 186 more than last year.
A situation that has necessitated the extension of the subsidy provided by the Torre Pacheco City Council for the year 2020.
In this way, the Torre Pacheco City Council contributes 30,000 euros to C ritas for the development of the actions of C ritas Torre Pacheco in the area of ??specific social emergency aid, aid to passers-by, maintenance of the Home of the Transe nte and delivery of food to individuals, families or groups in recognized state of need, as well as social assistance to all users of C ritas in the municipality of Torre Pacheco. The councilor for Social Services, Mar a Jos L pez, highlighted the great work of C ritas in our municipality, and the solidarity of all our neighbors in the Radio Marathon held on December 18, in addition s recalled that the Torre Pacheco City Council has been collaborating with this entity for years, supporting various projects of social interest to the municipality. For his part, the director of C ritas, Jos Garc a has reiterated once again his gratitude to the Torre Pacheco City Council for its collaboration with the entity, pointing out that this year has been very difficult for society and especially for the most vulnerable families, for which the economic expansion of the annual agreement has been necessary.
Noting that the families using C ritas are at this time 373, 186 families more than last year, reporting that C ritas has covered the rental, water and electricity costs of 35 families, in addition to food contributions.
