Last Friday, Torre-Pacheco opened a garden in honor of Jeónimo Gea Pérez.
This act is a sign of public recognition and tribute to the memory of Mr. Jerome Gea Pérez, in recognition of their civic behavior, generous and committed a neighbor recalled that contributed to throughout his life with the culture and traditions of our county, delivering deep literary and musical taste in prose, poetry, song or trovo in numerous publications, books and holiday programs of the municipality, his great contribution to the creation and promotion of the Radio City Tower and countless Pacheco collaborations with other places and areas near the Campo de Cartagena, as El Algar, place of origin, or La Union.

Jerome received life deserved awards and accolades, and now come to join in tribute to his memory, with the creation of the "Garden of Jerome Perez Gea" in Torre-Pacheco, where he eventually took root and started her own family.
Jerónimo Pérez Gea was born on 8 December 1943 in the town of El Algar (Cartagena), moving to Torre Pacheco in the year 1984, where he lived with his family until the date of his death on April 2, 2000 .
Married to Catherine Saura Espinosa, a native of El Jimenado, and daughter of Isidoro García Saura, who perhaps remember more of this town under the nickname "The Jimenado tan."
Their marriage bore fruit with two children, Maria Josefa and Jerome Gea Saura, currently teacher CEIP Nuestra Señora del Rosario and active collaborator in the work of school meals and many others that contribute to the educational and training school.
Since his arrival in Torre-Pacheco, contributed to the cultural enrichment of people, whom he called "his adopted village, a deduction from his countless writings, songs, poems and collaborations, his profound respect, admiration and closeness to our municipality.
Among the awards that highlight his deep love of literature, folk verse, and his love for Torre-Pacheco, hamlets, and villages of our region, are the award received in the year 1990 "Golden Antenna" from the hands of Radio Dial Torre Pacheco, where he founded a literary program of poetry and ballads, the composition of the book "Golf My Land," sung by Ginés Martínez Vera, who is currently Director Orchestra and teaches at the Conservatory of Music " Narciso Yepes "de Lorca, the recognition received from the City Council in 1995 for his work and career as a self-taught poet and troubadour, as he defined himself, or acting as a herald of the Festival de Cante Flamenco de Lo Ferro, late of the 90's, their participation as troubadours at the Festival of Cante de las Minas de La Union, or among many others, their participation in the foundation and the momentum of the current Municipal Radio Torre-Pacheco.
In short, its many units, collaborations and contributions made throughout their lives, have demonstrated their important contribution to the promotion of culture, tourism and traditions of our town, even in other nearby municipalities of our region of Cartagena, they do merit recognition of this county, represented by the Municipal Corporation meeting, and the decision to proceed with the name of a town square that bears his name, noting his experience active and love for our land, to enjoy and remembrance of present and future generations of pachequeros.
