Last Friday Balsicas opened in a garden in honor of Ricardo Sanmartin Meroņo.
This act is a sign of public recognition and tribute to the memory of Mr. Ricardo Sanmartin Meroņo, as a gesture of gratitude and appreciation dedicated to the example of civic behavior, generous and inclusive with the progress of our town, and especially with the hamlet of Balsicas, the town of affiliation and origin of Ricardo Sanmartin, for whom life demonstrated in samples of love, devotion and dedication

Ricardo Sanmartin Balsicas born on 24 November 1944 in the midst of a poor family, being the second youngest of a total of nine children.
When she was only three years old his mother died and eighteen was orphaned after the death of his father in very difficult times that forced him to work at an early age to help support their families and build their future.
In 1964, twenty years old, joined the National Telephone Company of Spain, being intended to Catalonia.
Twenty-five years foreman took the course to be transferred to the Inca city of Palma de Mallorca.
At that time, while developing their professional activity created a team with staff's own work brigade was responsible, in the 1970-1971 season.
After doing the course manager in 1978, he moved to Zaragoza.
After three years, including a brief stay of six months in Albacete, in 1981 he returned to his homeland, Balsicas.
His long career culminating with the position of provincial responsibility and technical assistance negotiated until his early retirement in 1998.
Person of comprehensive activity, continuing concern and strong values, is appointed village headman of Balsicas in the 1999-2003 legislature and council of the PSOE in the municipality of Torre Pacheco in the 2003-2007 legislature, where he developed an extensive work by improving their municipality and their hometown.
