Today, 21 September, World Alzheimer's Day, the City of Torre-Pacheco and the Association of Relatives and Friends of Alzheimer and other diseases of Cartagena and Shire (AFAL Cartagena and Shire), have signed a collaboration agreement.
The Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio Leon along with the Councillor for Social Services, Veronica Martinez and members of the Municipal Corporation have received the president of AFAL, Pedro Antonio Arroyo Tous and Raul Nieto Galera, manager, and proceeded to the signing of a collaboration agreement between the City and the Association.
About 17,000 people over 64 have Alzheimer's disease in the Region of Murcia, according to data provided by the Ministry of Health, and approximately more than 4,000 affected are in Cartagena and region.
The Mayor stressed the great work of this Association is based in Cartagena and that this agreement decentralizes its services, providing personalized attention to our municipality, thus achieving that the residents of Torre-Pacheco can access these services without having to travel to Cartagena.
AFAL, provide services on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays in the morning on Day Centre Torre-Pacheco.
