The Councillor for Citizen Security, Juan Salvador Sanchez, accompanied by the Officer of the Local Police, José Mercader, gathered yesterday afternoon in the 112 Emergency Center Murcia, with the Director General of Public Safety and Emergency Manuel Duran, to advance the various issues of concern in relation to Local Security issues.
During this meeting, they discussed issues presented by Councilman, and most importantly right now, such as the situation of the different boulevards of the town and particularly those closest to the population, taking into account the dangers that can arise in these dates as a result of possible torrential rains;
requesting his mediation with the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura in demanding cleaning of these wadis to prevent possible flooding and damage in the town.
Juan Salvador Sanchez and Manuel Duran also discussed the importance of regional funding to the local police that currently is 600,000 euros per year, extended until 2021, and that she helps finance in Torre-Pacheco what the Regional Government called as Brigades of Public Safety with which the number of police in the municipality increased.
Another issue addressed at the meeting was mandatory in municipalities of more than 20,000 inhabitants, being the case of Torre-Pacheco, to have the position of Coordinator of Civil Protection as an officer, necessary to evaluate emergency plans, evacuation, etc.
As for the Civil Protection Service Director General pledged to work with the material means at its disposal for the benefit of the work done by volunteers Torre-Pacheco;
and offer their collaboration and commitment to attending the Third Conference organized by Civil Emergency Protection for October 1 in Torre-Pacheco.
The City Council Public Safety has assessed the meeting as very positive, emplacement future meetings for proper operation and commissioning of new projects, consolidating existing ones.
