The Minister of Education and Universities, María Isabel Sánchez-Mora, accompanied by the mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León, today inaugurated the extension of the Institute of Secondary Education Sabina Mora de Roldán of this municipality, which opens a new pavilion with eight classrooms and Benefits 666 students.
Sánchez-Mora reiterated the "commitment of the regional government to the educational community to continue improving infrastructures, adapting and expanding centers according to the needs of schooling."
The new infrastructure has invested 549,784 euros, which has been financed by the Community through the Feder Funds, and has a constructed area of ​​1,000 square meters, of which 887 are useful.
It consists of eight classrooms, distributed four on the ground floor and four on the first floor, a bathroom on the ground floor and two seminars on the first floor with direct access from the institute.
The new building follows the aesthetics of the existing one, with finishes for the façade in red brick, with what is integrated in the educational complex.
The Ministry of Education this year will invest around 20 million euros in infrastructure, the objective is, as explained Sánchez-Mora, "to have schools and institutes more comfortable for teaching teachers and student learning."
Specifically, new centers will be built, such as the Sacred Heart School of Librilla, La Aljorra School in Cartagena and Prince Felipe de Jumilla, and Pascual Pérez Abellán de Pliego will be expanded, among others.
In addition, will proceed to the integral remodeling of the institutes Alfonso X and Miguel de Cervantes de Murcia and Sanje de Alcantarilla.
The Minister recalled that "the regional government carries out actions to improve infrastructure throughout the year."
