The Council of Education and Youth, together with the Department of Social Services and Equality of the City of Torre-Pacheco, organizes this initiative that last Tuesday held its second meeting.
The Councilor for Education, Conchi Martínez, commented that "with the Intergenerational Encounters: Seniors & Youngsters," seeks to foster coexistence in a society for all ages;
With the purpose of obtaining the participation and the exchange between young and old, interested in teaching and learning knowledge, skills, traditions, gastronomy, new technologies;

In the first meeting, they focused on new technologies, especially on the mobile phone;
During two hours, an exchange of knowledge and experiences took place, where the youngest ones taught the older ones their functioning.
After the successful participation and great acceptance of both young and old, this second meeting has been held where the theme has been gastronomy, and here the elders have been in charge of teaching the youngest to prepare a cake and chocolate ;
An entertaining afternoon, where everyone enjoyed the activity, especially when they could taste the recipes.
The councilor has indicated that more meetings will be held, the next will be next March 20, where the activity will consist of learning to manage a Tablet and a Laptop;
Here again it will be the young people who will have to become teachers;
Ending with the last meeting in the month of April, which will consist of a cultural trip, which pretends to be a day of coexistence and leisure.
The City Council is working to schedule more intergenerational meetings, in addition to Torre-Pacheco in the districts;
An initiative that aims to consolidate itself as a program in which the councils of youth and seniors collaborate.
