The Town Hall of Torre-Pacheco and the Department of Culture take the street again through an exhibition of photographs that pays homage to Holy Week in the districts Dolores de Pacheco and Balsicas.
This exhibition is composed of 19 photographs and is located in Virgen del Pilar street with Francisco León street for the enjoyment of pachequeros and pachequeras, in addition to all who visit us in the coming days.
The images represent our history of Easter, in particular the processions of Dolores de Pacheco and Balsicas, and show the tradition, culture and religious fervor that characterizes it.
The processions of Dolores de Pacheco were interrupted in 1996, but in 2001 four brotherhoods of this hamlet pachequera retake this tradition through the processions of Holy Week.
At present there are six brotherhoods that parade through the streets of Dolores de Pacheco and its Holy Week begins with the Via Crucis of the Cofradía del Cristo Crucificado.
On Friday of Dolores the parade is in charge of the Brotherhood of the Virgin of the Dolores.
Palm Sunday children are the main protagonists when taking a step.
On Holy Thursday the streets of the Brotherhood of the Crucified Christ, the one of Santa Maria Magdalena and the one of the Virgin of the Dolores cross the streets.
On Good Friday the procession opens the Brotherhood of the Crucified Christ, followed by the one of the Christ Yacente and the one of San Juan Evangelista, and closes the Brotherhood of the Virgin of the Dolores.
On Easter Sunday, the Confraternity of Saint Mary Magdalene, the Risen Christ, the San Juan Evangelista and the Virgin of Sorrows are present, and it is the morning when the neighbors of Dolores de Pacheco show with great fervor this Cultural and religious week.
In the hamlet of Balsicas begin the processions in 1987, with the enthusiasm and effort of all the neighbors who are directly involved in the parades.
It has been 30 years since the creation of the first brotherhoods, the Virgin of Sorrows and the Christ, with images donated to the parish by the 40s. The following years are incorporating the other images and creating new brotherhoods: the Brotherhood Of the San Juan, the one of the Holy Sepulcher, the Piety, the Risen One, the Jesus of Nazareth and, finally, the Veronica.
In addition, four years ago the Brotherhood of Christ buys the image of the Burrica.
There are also four processions in Balsicas: Palm Sunday, in which the children also take possession of the parade carrying the throne of the Burrica;
The Holy Tuesday with the transfer of the Christ from the church to the headquarters of the brotherhoods;
The Good Friday with the Holy Burial in which the six brotherhoods of Balsicas participate;
And, of course, the Resurrection Sunday with the meeting of the Blessed Virgin and her Risen Son.
The Department of Culture invites all pachequeros, pachequeras and those who visit us in that week of religious and cultural fervor, to come to our Holy Week, will not disappoint.
