The Mayor of Torre-Pacheco, Antonio León, the Councilor for Culture, Raul Lledó and the President of the Rondalla Virgen de los Dolores, José García 'El Manchego', presented this morning the IX Meeting of Gangs and Exhibition Trovera de Dolores de Pacheco to be held on Sunday 2 April.
Participating in this meeting are some of the best trovo gangs in the Region of Murcia, including our local representation, the Rondalla Virgen de los Dolores.
This rondalla was founded in 1996 by a few residents of Dolores de Pacheco, among whom was the first and current president José 'El Manchego' and who was the director of the new group, Alfonso Inglés.
Its objective is to revitalize and transmit the popular music of our people, as well as the songs of our region, to the new generations.
At the moment it counts on more than thirty members who keep alive the music of root of the region, enriching it with jotas, malagueñas and pardicas.
The rest of the teams are: Cuadrilla de la Hoya, Animeros of Cehegín and Cuadrillas Troveros de la Huerta de Murcia.
In addition, this meeting has among its ranks Uncle Juan Rita who, with his 105 years just fulfilled, returns to Dolores de Pacheco to delight us with some of his most outstanding followers in the art of the repentization, in a controversy trovera worth seeing.
The other troveros participants are: Cardoso I, Cardoso II, Avellaneda, the Grandson, the boy of Archena and the Andalusian.
The activities will start at 9:30 in the morning with the meeting of crews and chocolate in the square of the church.
Then there will be a mass sung by the crews and then make the parade to the Park of the Pines.
There will begin the musical performances and the show trovera, about half past eleven in the morning.
Finally, the brotherhood meal will take place, at two and a half in the afternoon approximately.
Although José 'El Manchego' warns the audience that they do not go very far, because after eating usually continues the fun with singing and dancing.
Dolores de Pacheco has been involved with this activity and several establishments in the hamlet have launched a Low Cost Menu, which consists of salad, chicken rice and costillejas, dessert and drink for eight euros, all also available to take away.
The businesses that are part of this promotion are: Centro Cívico de Dolores de Pacheco, Pensioner's Home, Agrodolores Bar, Bar Maiquez, La Esquina.
While for breakfasts, coffees or drinks: Bakery Confectionery Isidro, Bakery Confectionery Tere, Pub Neón, Kiosco Los Pinos.
Coinciding with this event, the Official Act of naming the public road "Paseo de los Troveros y el Folklore" will be held, along the Paseo de los Pinos, by Dolores de Pacheco, which was approved by the City Council in plenary session Ordinary meeting held on January 26, 2017.
From the Town Hall of Torre-Pacheco they reaffirm that this municipality has a great tradition trovera and that it is very important to preserve this mark of identity over the years.
