So far, emergency works have been started in the municipalities of Murcia, Alhama de Murcia, Cieza and Torre Pacheco, with an investment exceeding half a million euros
The Ministry of Development and Infrastructures has begun emergency works to rebuild a slope at the km 0.2 of the RM-F51 road, which links Pozo Estrecho with Torre Pacheco, and which shows instability after the rainy season month of December.
The Director General of Highways, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, visited the area where he is working with the mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León.
At this point, the embankment supports the road and underneath the railroad runs the Murcia-Cartagena line.
The rains caused numerous drags of the embankment, which was damaged and weakened along the circulation lanes of the RM-F51, both on the left bank and on the right, causing the shoulder is beginning to take off.
In addition, the drags produced by the rains on the slope have disabled a log pool of the desalinated water pipe that runs through the area, and have deteriorated some sections of fencing.
The works consist of the reinforcement of the slopes, the repair of the damages caused, the construction of a wall and the replacement of the existing services in this point.
Thus, we are working on the disassembly of the bionda and the mesh and poles that protect the slope, placing a new fence, construction of a masonry wall and covering the slope with natural stone on the existing hearth.
In addition, a new drain for storm drainage will be installed, the road markings will be repainted on the pavement and the vertical signaling will be installed again.
The slope will be decorated with the dandelion planting.
The estimated cost of this action is 96,800 euros and the execution period of one month.
Fernández Lladó said that "so far, emergency works have been started in the municipalities of Murcia, Alhama de Murcia, Cieza and Torre Pacheco, with an investment exceeding half a million euros."
