The Holy Week of Balsicas was the occasion chosen to pay homage to Pedro Jiménez, a gold medal of Torre-Pacheco and exalcalde of the municipality, who was named Nazareno de Honor on Sunday, April 2.
The pregonera was Dolores Ros Ferrer, who in the Civic Center of this hamlet delighted the present with a sense of speech that dedicated to Pedro Jiménez.
In it he reviewed the history of Holy Week of Balsicas and contributed his point of view and his own memories to give a personal touch to the last thirty years.
He recalled that, in its beginnings in 1987, Pedro Jiménez had been the main responsible that worked with affection and illusion so that the Holy Week of Balsicas shines with force.
And of those seeds planted by Pedro Jiménez, we now see its fruits: tradition, culture and religious fervor that runs through the streets of Balsicas by the hand of six brotherhoods and four processions throughout the week.
