On September 5 the Local Police presented the new canine service that will serve as support in prevention and citizen security.
With just a couple of services with the dogs that make up this canine unit, the Local Police of Torre-Pacheco have already practiced more than a dozen of interventions related to the consumption of drugs in diverse zones of the municipality.
The areas where the first services of the canine unit have been carried out have been areas denounced by the neighbors of the municipality as places of "retail" and drug use.
Among these places, the Park of the Constitution, of Torre-Pacheco, or the Municipal Park of Roldán, where several quantities of narcotic substances and some white arms have been apprehended.
Several citizen security controls have also been carried out in different areas of the municipality, where drug-detecting dogs have been an effective tool of the Local Police when inspecting the selected vehicles.
Councilor for Citizen Security, Juan Salvador Sánchez Saura, said that "these operations will contribute to improve the service of the Local Police, and it has been found that dogs provide greater security for agents, rapid detection of drugs and a high deterrent ability to know their presence in police control. "
Sanchez Saura said that "in the coming weeks will continue to carry out different preventive controls in the vicinity of institutes, parks, squares and public spaces of the municipality to avoid the" retail "of drugs"
