The VI Edition of the Matrix Model, Intensive Psychosocial Treatment of Addictions, organized by the International University of the Sea, is celebrated in Torre-Pacheco until the 22 of September.
The "Matrix" Model was implemented in the Region of Murcia in 2005, in collaboration with the National Plan on Drugs.
Since then, nearly 1,800 patients with addictions have been treated in the Public Health Service Network of the Murciano Health Service and in 8 NGOs.
This is the sixth edition of this course, which has already made more than 450 people, not only from Murcia, but also from other communities and even from other countries like Chile or Argentina, since Murcia is a worldwide reference in the application of this model of treatment.
The Mayor of Torre-Pacheco, Antonio León, presided the start of the course, this morning, accompanied by the Vice-rector of Training and Innovation of the University of Murcia, Juan Jiménez, and the co-director of the course, Maria Dolores Oñate .
León has expressed the interest from the City of Torre-Pacheco to continue collaborating with the International University of the Sea;
a relationship that began in 2004.
The training activity has 30 hours theoretical-practical sessions, on the Matrix Model, intensive psychosocial treatment of addictions, with a training module in motivational interview.
