The Regional Executive has agreed, at the proposal of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, to provide the City of Torre Pacheco with 35,000 euros for the rehabilitation of the well-known Molino Tío Facorro, a cereal grinding mill located in a large square within the The urban center of the municipality, which makes it a building that breaks with the urban landscape, in a unique environment and respectful of the old traditions.
The singularity of this Mill of the Tío Facorro, considered Good of Cultural Interest, resides in that the mills of grinding grain are the least usual in the Field of Cartagena.
Its origin is from 1838 and it has the original machinery.
Its rehabilitation is necessary, since, if the structural base-support parts of the entire roof are not repaired, both the machinery, the roof and part of the factory work could suffer a partial collapse-ruin and lose the mill.
