Francisco Bernabé received at the office of the Government Delegation in Cartagena the mayor of Torre-Pacheco, Antonio León and the councilor for Public Safety, Juan Salvador Sánchez.
The Government Delegate met today in Cartagena with the Mayor of Torre-Pacheco and the Councilor for Citizen Security.
This is the first official meeting of the new government delegate, with the Mayor of Torre-Pacheco, after Bernabé took office as the new delegate of the Government in the Region, meeting in which Leon has conveyed the availability to work and collaborate in all matters that concern both Administrations.
The meeting has addressed two important issues for the municipality, such as citizen insecurity and lack of water.
In this line the mayor has stressed that the Government Delegate, has to commit to endow the Torre-Pacheco barracks with more troops, not only in special operations, but permanently, since for many years suffers from a deficit important agent.
The barracks of the Civil Guard of Torre-Pacheco, includes municipalities such as San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier, Los Alcázares, and some areas of Cartagena and Murcia, so it needs according to the mayor, to expand the strength of the Benemérita in said barracks.
León has reiterated the concern about the lack of resources in the Guardia Civil barracks in Torre-Pacheco, a concern not only by the Consistory, but also by the residents of the municipality, who have transmitted this concern and that León has wanted to move to the Government Delegate.
In this meeting, Leon expressed to the delegate of the Government the concern about the lack of water not only in the municipality of Torre-Pacheco, but throughout the region, a fact that can lead to a lack of work, a social crisis, a difficult problem to stop but necessary to prevent.
Likewise, he recalled that last year Torre-Pacheco suffered as well as other municipalities terrible floods, of which there are still damages, reiterating the need for aid to repair rural roads, which have not yet been repaired, as well as infrastructure, channels that are uncleared, among other problems, so it has demanded help from the Government of Spain to alleviate all these damages.
