The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, and the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Daniel García Madrid, put into service today the new collector of the hamlet of El Jimenado, which has received an investment of 866,000 euros, with financial assistance from the Fund Cohesion of the European Union.
This collector will be five kilometers long service, in addition to the Jimenado, other small villages and scattered the municipality.
The new sanitation infrastructure will refine more than 200 cubic meters of water a day for agriculture.
Cerda said that the new collector "focus on the main sewage wastewater from all these districts for treatment and reuse, and improve the sanitation of these areas."
The Minister stressed the importance of infrastructure in the municipality, that "although there are still underground, are a contribution to improving public service and the environment, with greater impact on quality of life for residents of the area."
Water responsible for regional government said that the Ministry "has conducted a comprehensive wastewater treatment in the entire municipality," and stressed that the amount invested exceeds 20 million euros, also financed by European funds.
"This is a great project for the collection and comprehensive treatment of water, comprising a wide network of collectors with more than 40 miles to reach the entire municipality as well as the purification and Roldán-Torre Pacheco Balsicas, with a treatment capacity of 13,000 cubic meters per day, representing up to five hectometres of water per year, "said Minister of Agriculture and Water.
