This morning the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Daniel García Madrid and Colonel-General Director of the Air Academy and Chief of the Air Base in San Javier, Antonio Ortega Vázquez, presented in the Plenary Hall of the Ayuntamiento de Torre Pacheco Civil Flag of Jura to be held in the New Town Hall Square on 6 March at 13.00 hours.
It is the first time Torre-Pacheco swears hosts a civil flag.
The non-military personnel wishing to engage, officially to defend Spain, will have an opportunity on March 6.
At 13 hours there will be a pledge of civil flag in the courtyard of Villa Paseo Esperanza, organized by the City Council and the General Air Academy in San Javier.
The call is open to anyone older.
Those interested should submit their application together with a photocopy of National Identity in the municipality of Torre Pacheco.
Applications can be picked up at the City Council or downloaded from the municipal website www.torrepacheco.es.
The deadline for entries is March 4.
During the year 2011 our town will live a large number of events of special social significance, historical and cultural, in order to celebrate the 175 Anniversary Commemorative Program of the final constitution of our City.
A significant fact the exact date is dated September 17, 1836, as stated in the first and oldest Chapter Act that preserves our Municipal Archive, which marked the beginning of the journey of Torre-Pacheco, his capacity to govern and independence, which now has been the result of the image and essence of Torre-Pacheco as a prosperous town, dynamic and developed.
The first event to commemorate the 175 anniversary was the opening of the Bell Tower and along the year, celebrations will be held more as a pledge of civil flag, the opening of the New Town Hall, the recognition with a bronze medal to those groups of municipality with 20 or more years old, among others.
