The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, today announced that the City of Torre Pacheco will receive aid from European funds FEDER of 1,829,568 euros for the project TOP EVOLUTION, representing 70% of the total budget it amounting to 2,613,668.57 euros.
González Tovar added that so provided in the resolution published in the Official Gazette by the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Administration, which accounts for the allocation made by the Secretary of State for Regional Cooperation Fund aid European Regional Development to co-finance local and urban development during the period 2011-2013.
These grants fall within the Regional Operational Programmes 2007-2013 and aimed at promoting local sustainable development, contribute to promoting regional development and urban regeneration to address the special difficulties posed by the development of natural handicap areas, pursuing economic, social and territorial.
The Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Administration received 134 applications, of which 61 projects were selected from 43 local authorities, including the city of Torre Pacheco.
TOP EVOLUTION The project envisages the creation of a Municipal Business Center for Research, Development and Innovation, as well as the increased use of modern information technologies, job creation, the implementation of a rail network plan- bike, urban transport development and the empowerment of citizen participation.
