This week has ended the campaign of Coeducation in Education Centres of the City, which has been making the city of Torre Pacheco in collaboration with the Association of Families and Women of Rural Areas, (AFAMMER) since 2008.
The objective of this campaign, including the programming of activities of the Municipal Institute for Social Action Services (IMSAS) for 2011, is to sensitize the youth population on the need for flexible gender prejudices and stereotypes and to foster attitudes that approach conducive to children in situations of everyday discrimination that can occur in their daily reality.
Besides working with students, the proposal has included faculty and families, with the intention of raising awareness, educate and involve its privileged position as transmitters of values ​​and gender sensitivity, responsibility and promoting co-education of men and women.
The campaign has been the development of activities and educational workshops aimed at students in primary education and information sessions aimed at teachers and families.
The campaign was carried out using two stories as didactic support on coeducation "The bunting sock" and "The cast bullet," published by the municipality of Torre Pacheco, which deal with home responsibilities, caring staff, as well as values as equality, solidarity, friendship, etc ...
This year, 2011, the campaign has concluded IMSAS, developing activities from September to December in the following schools: CEIP "San Antonio" (Torre Pacheco), CEIP "Alba" (Roland) and CEIP "NS
Lady of Sorrows "(Dolores de Pacheco).
The workshops have been conducted by the Association of Families and Women in Rural, AFAMMER.
This program has been well received by students and a high level of satisfaction by both schools as families, contributing to improving the shared responsibility of all members of the family at work and in life encouraging family and the assumption of such attitudes from an early age.
