The trade fair town of Torre Pacheco hosted yesterday in the Twelfth Paella Solidarity, as usual, organized Manos Unidas.
This event aims to raise funds to finance solidarity objectives in the most needy of the earth, both economically and socially.
Attendees sampled a menu whose ingredients have been donated free of charge in the vast majority of companies and individuals.
Dealt serving hundreds of volunteers who, in addition to providing free work, pay the amount of their invitation.
This year, the collection of Paella Solidarity is dedicated to supporting a cooperative of farmers in Cameroon (ChEDE Muacfcoop in the southwest), suffering a heavy reliance on large traders who buy the crop in unfair conditions.
The help of Manos Unidas is intended to create a fund to improve the income of cooperative members by pre-financing of the sale of their crops and access to microcredit.
Leading the project is Mr. Michael Njume Ebong who is a former UN official in Geneva.
