This morning the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Daniel García Madrid, next to the Councillor for equality, Encarnacion Navarro, presented the activities planned for the celebration of March 8, International Women's Day to be held from 6 to 9 March under the title "Week for Women's Health" with the main objective of mainstreaming a gender perspective on health that would enable women visible in their life cycles and their differences.
In the perspective of gender differences and inequalities, will address this week, taking into account the biological, age, disease, pregnancy, childbirth, menstruation and menopause, hormones, genetic aspects, such as life expectancy ; the sociocultural aspects: social class, educational level, employment status, responsibility and reconciliation of work and family life, social support and informal care in health and behavioral issues, eating habits, consumption snuff and drugs, etc..
Not go into every one of them, but will point they all have a differential impact for women and men as determinants of health, chronic conditions, limitation of activity and mental health.
