The City of Torre-Pacheco, through the Municipal Institute for Social Action Services (IMSAS) by the Senior Project Launches Workshop Report.
Many of the memory problems that are not the major concern related to the disease but with the lack of stimulation, care and training or affective and emotional problems.
That's why it is necessary to offer training programs that help preserve cognitive abilities as long as possible in order to preserve the autonomy, teaching concrete strategies for solving the most common everyday forgetfulness in the elderly.
In this sense, the workshop participants intended to know the basic operation of memory, change attitudes and negative stereotypes about the irreversibility of the changes or lack of memory, train them on strategies and specific techniques that can be transferred to everyday life, improve mood and self-esteem of participants and facilitate communication among its members.
The workshop will be held from April 17 to June 12, 2012 and will be held at the Day Centre Torre-Pacheco, on Tuesdays from 11:00 to 12:30 hours.
