The Field School has provided in recent years a unique opportunity for the international youth and staff, enthusiastic in finding the roots of Neanderthals in the contexts of scientific practice in the Sima de las Palomas Cabezo Gordo , a major site of Neanderthal Man (Homo neanderthalensis) and Palaeolithic Mousterian industry of approximately 50,000 years ago.
This site occupies a prominent place on the map of human evolution in Europe.
Each year, the Field School outstanding professors and researchers collaborate international and passed through its halls students and graduates from all over the country and several EU member states and the United States, Australia ... etc.
The campaign, which began on July 24, runs until August 12, have been directed by Professor Michael J.
Walker.
In addition, there will be an open day on 12 August, the day on which the pit will be open all morning, until noon.
