The government team realized in the past plenary session on 28 February of the 2012 municipal budget settlement that has in surplus.
Although the Consistory was required as public administration to have budget stability, Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Daniel García Madrid, highlighted the efforts made by the local government to have a "clear accounting, transparent and balanced"
The budget settlement in 2012 the City of Torre-Pacheco is a positive result, thus fulfilling the objective of budgetary stability.
Furthermore, the level of indebtedness of the City Council stands at 101%, which is below the maximum allowed in the current legistlación (110%) and has achieved a net saving of 1.65%, adjusted with the reinstatement of participation in state taxes for the years 2008 and 2009.
This positive result was possible thanks to a policy of austerity, prioritization and cost containment, applied by the group of government in recent years, such as sustainability and austerity plans that have been implemented since 2008 and have enabled save more than 7 million euros.
Despite this fact, the City of Torre Pacheco will continue to work in this line of austerity and cost containment, creating new plans to move forward, optimizing resources and boosting the town.
