The Cante de las Minas Foundation awarded the National Award for best work of music promotion (Challenge Pencho Cros) at Festival de Cante Flamenco Lo Ferro in the thirty-fifth anniversary of its establishment, under the excellent advocacy Flemish art that that event is conducted over all these years.
This award, which corresponds to the XV International Cultural Festival Call Cante de las Minas, will be delivered on August 7 at 20 am in the Auditorium of the City of La Union.
Pencho Cros trophies are awards, honoring the legendary Flamenco singer unionense three times winner of the Mining Lamp, designed to reward certain activities in order to promote and stimulate the development of International Festival del Cante de las Minas deal with aspects relevant to the Union, the Festival itself, mining songs and flamenco in general.
The International Festival de Cante Flamenco Lo Ferro, declared of Regional Tourist Interest and about to get the declaration of National Tourist Interest, is celebrating its thirty-fifth edition, from 21 to 27 July in Lo Ferro, in the municipality of Torre-Pacheco .
After a few early with few material resources, has carved a niche in the national flamenco scene, being recognized by the Flemish establishment today as the third Festival Concurso de Cante most important Flamenco in Spain, both for its duration, as its budget for prizes and especially the impact it has for singers and flamenco singers who come from all over Spain to qualify for the "Golden Melon" to "The Mill Ferro" and other awards in addition to its economic value of 36,000 euros open the doors of this difficult but exciting world of flamenco.
La Peña Flamenca Golden Melon Lo Ferro, along with the city of Torre-Pacheco, are the organizers of the Festival which includes, along with the "Dating Flamingos Winter" and "Flamenco Solidarity" project in the program called "The Ferro Flamenco ".
Every year the Festival Gold Medals are given to individuals, cities or organizations that are deserving of this promotion or their contribution to flamenco art and culture in general.
Among the past recipients include the Jerez de la Frontera, Cartagena, Seville, Cordoba, Ceuta, Lorca cities and personalities as our maid of honor the Duchess of Alba and great artists of flamenco and Spanish song like Fosforito, Chano Lobato, Juanito Valderrama, Rocío Jurado, Marife de Triana and this year Miguel Flores "Capullo de Jerez".
