Pablo Olivares (Production Manager) offered at the International Film Festival for Diversity "Andoenredando" a presentation of "Voluntary Return", a short fiction film directed by Samuel Vela and produced by Yaku Films.
The film talks about the lives of four main characters, all of them illegal immigrants, who face an increasingly difficult situation when you have restricted access to healthcare, and the inability to get a job without papers.
The film has already been shot last October, and is currently being assembled at the Churubusco Studios in Mexico.
Among the cast and crew there Bolivians, Peruvians, Ecuadorians, Spanish, Guinean, Congolese ...
This diversity of nationalities is what gives "Voluntary Return" a unique character, where everyone used their personal experiences to build the characters.
The film has the support of several NGOs and associations such as SOS Racism and Human Spain, as well as various groups and individuals who have offered their selfless help to move the project forward.
The premiere of "voluntary return" is scheduled for the first half of 2015 in various channels.
"Voluntary Return" is a short fiction film based on a true story, where the story of a Latin American couple (Peter and Carmen), and other African (Mnandy and Susanna), which have restricted access to health and employment system, as it is told of immigrants.
Gradually, the situation becomes untenable, until
Peter and Mnandy arrested and taken to an ICE (Immigration detention).
Filmed on location in Madrid in October 2014, the short film "Voluntary Return" is currently being assembled and post at Churubusco Studios (Mexico).
In the words of its director, Samuel Vela, "this story is about all those people that gives them heart sank every time a police patrol intersect.
The story is important because some more, some less, have felt like arriving in a new country. "
The main roles of "Voluntary Return" are played by Karina Moscol Mario Fuertes, Matilde and Ejid Yetenne Gerona.
Among the cast and crew members of different nationalities there: Bolivian, Peruvian, Mexican, Spanish, Ecuadorian, Congolese ... The diverse backgrounds of all of them has served to reach a compromise with the story that has generated an intimate and subtle interpretations, and convey the tension of the characters from their own feelings and, in some cases, came from actual experiences.
