This morning the Mayor of Torre-Pacheco, Fina Marin and the president of the Association Project Abraham, Nuria García Clavijos, have signed an agreement for the implementation of a system of selective collection of textiles, footwear and toys in Torre-Pacheco.
In the agreement have been accompanied by the Councillor for Social Welfare, Conchi Sanchez.
The locations determined to effect such collection containers will be at street level, the ecoparks, schools, entities receiving textiles, footwear and toys, businesses interested in joining and institutions (health centers, residences, etc.).
The duration of the agreement is two years
In the past three years, more than 30 people at risk and / or social exclusion, derived from social services Torre-Pacheco, have received training in socio-occupational training workshops taught by Abraham Project Association.
In total there have been three workshops (two sewing workshops and workshop basic computer and Internet)
Annually, the nonprofit entity provides the municipality offering training aimed at people at risk and / or exclusion.
The training program Abraham Project, which includes various occupational workshops (sewing, shoe, audiovisual, computer) aims to develop socio-occupational skills in users / as allowing them to integrate and compete in the job market.
These social actions are included in this collaboration agreement that Abraham Project and the City of Torre-Pacheco held since 2003. It is an agreement that is twofold: combating poverty and social exclusion by developing programs social integration and preserve the environment by selective waste collection: clothes, shoes and toys.
In all, there are 26 recycling containers of clothing, footwear and toys, with which Abraham Project collected during 2013, almost 59,000 kilos of such waste on public roads.
