The City of Torre-Pacheco has created a total of 105 new parking spaces for bicycles, thanks to the installation of a total of 21 special devices located in different parts of town, in addition to those already installed previously.
The objective of this initiative is to promote the use of bicycles as a means of sustainable transport, allowing faster travel short distances and save on fuel, also reducing air pollution levels.
From City of Torre-Pacheco to residents of the municipality are encouraged to go to work, to school or to the Institute, bicycle, because in this way we will be doing physical exercise and jams that typically occur when would reduce the and out of schools.
Thus, people who use the bike around can park them safely on these items of street furniture.
New bicycle parking are located in the following locations:
- Torre-Pacheco: 2 in the Colegio del Rosario, 1 in the Civic Center, 1 in the CAES, 1 in the Health Center Antonio Cózar, 1 in the Department of Social Services, 1 in the Social Center Barrio de Santiago and 1 in the side of the Old Town Hall.
- Roldán: 2 in Alba College, 1 in the Sabina Mora Institute, 1 in the Day Centre and 1 in the Medical Center
- Balsicas: 1 at the Civic Center, 1 in the Home of the Pensioner, 1 Medical Center, 1 in the Youth Space and another in the covered pavilion.
- The Jimenado: 1 in the Entretierras College and another in Covered Pavilion
- San Cayetano: bicycle parking has been placed in the Social Centre
