The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities network will improve schools in Torre Pacheco with the expansion and construction of new infrastructure at a college and an institute of the municipality, actions in which an investment of 1.366 million euros is planned.
It comes Specifically, the project of building a classroom block in the College of Education and Basic Our Lady of Sorrows, in the hamlet of Los Dolores, and enlargement of the Institute of Secondary Education Sabina Mora, Roldan.
The general director of Educational Centers, María Dolores Valcárcel, and the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Josefa Marín Otto, today visited these two schools.
"The Ministry of Education in collaboration with the City, will make a major effort to further improve the network of schools in the region and Torre Pacheco so that educational infrastructure contribute to quality education and school success of our students, "said Maria Dolores Valcárcel.
The projects are now under supervision, so that the bidding process will begin before the end of this school year.
In the case of Our Lady of Sorrows, the planned investment is 476,000 euros, while the amount for the expansion of IES Sabina Mora is 890,000 euros.
In total, investment in infrastructure of the Ministry in the schools in the county in recent years amounted to 8,468,002.92 euros.
Among the actions taken, is the construction of two schools and Primary as well as other minor actions to condition and improve facilities, such as improvements in electrical installations, design of toilets or adaptations of classrooms for new uses.
In chapter scholarships, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities has provided support for textbooks and school supplies to a total of 475 students, which represents an investment of 59,410 euros.
In addition, 107 scholarships have been awarded to students of the municipality to cover the cafeteria, with a total investment of 87,720.36 euros.
