This morning the Mayor of Torre-Pacheco, Fina Marin Otto, made the official opening of Children's Traffic Park during 2014-2015, where practice Driver Education Course taught.
At the opening has been accompanied by the Councillor for Public Safety, Ricardo Martínez, the Councillor for Social Welfare, Local Police Officer Jose Mercader and the agent in charge of the Road Education, Salvador Martinez.
The Children's Traffic Park in Torre-Pacheco, is a facility that is built into the Comprehensive Security Center, specifically on its back, and it's a street layout simulating any neighborhood of a locality, one-way streets, double sense, crosses, vertical signs, traffic lights, road markings ... where school have the opportunity to put into practice the lessons learned in the lecture phase developed in their own classrooms.
The regulation governing currently running this installation dates from June 26, 2000, and was working temporarily in the Rambla de San José Obrero, along CAES Torre-Pacheco, until the construction of this new facility entering its fourth year of operation, under the direction of the Chief of the local police, José Mercader Saura, being in charge of its operation Agent Salvador Martínez López.
As endowment, has seven electric karts five mopeds, 25 bicycles and 3 tricycles used by students of Schools, but also organize workshops with other groups and students of Initial Vocational Training Program (PCPI) are students with physical, mental and sensory disabilities Prometheus association, and this course as a novelty, we will also be visited by students from Kings College, English school located in the La Torre Golf Resort, Roldan.
The students of various educational centers practices began February 16 classes on Monday, starting the CEIP Nuestra Señora del Rosario, and over the next four months, this facility will going to school all participants in the project The two closest schools (Our Lady of the Rosary and Fontes), make the walking tour accompanied by their tutors, while the rest will be using buses putting Driver Education Department each year for travel.
Upon completion of the practical classes, and before the Closing of the course, will be held the XIV Municipal Traffic Education Contest, where students from 6th try to get interesting prizes at stake, thanks to the generous contribution of several companies Torre-Pacheco, together with the efforts of the City of Torre-Pacheco, through its Department of Public Safety and the Department of Education and Road Safety.
