The Ministry of Health and Social Policy, through the Directorate General of Socio Planning, Pharmacy and Citizen, along with the city of Torre-Pacheco have been launched, in collaboration with primary care providers, the 'Set Program 'prescribing physical activity to chronic patients.
Active is a program that seeks to promote healthy lifestyles, which uses physical exercise to combat inactivity and obesity (which in the region of Murcia affect 60% of citizens).
It is a program for sedentary patients with certain chronic diseases of high prevalence such as hypertension, abnormal lipids, smoking, obesity or overweight.
And for that, your main objective is to promote physical activity from the coordination between doctors and nurses of Primary Care and the City.
The patients that exercise is prescribed, are referred by doctors at the Department of Health that organizes them into groups of 20, to perform a program of therapeutic exercise, monitors sent by the CARM, providing the City infrastructure necessary for their development.
Patients receive 30 sessions (three days a week for 10 weeks).
The sessions are taught in teaching at the Sports Municipal Virgen del Pasico Torre-Pacheco.
When you finish this first group will go to other groups teaching sessions for four years, which is the term of the agreement signed between the city of Torre-Pacheco and the Ministry of Health and Social Policy.
The purpose of this project is that people with chronic diseases incorporated into their daily routines listed in the 'Active Program' to help improve their health.
