11 people have successfully completed the computer course lasting 40 hours
The City of Torre-Pacheco, through the Department of Social Services and Equality, develops various projects and activities aimed at social inclusion and improving the employability of people with difficulties in accessing the labor market.
Councillor for Social Services, Veronica Martinez commented that in the past five years has been collaborating with the National Association Abraham Project in the design and implementation of social and labor training workshops like the one today has been closed.
Through this collaboration the Association carries out recruitment of teachers.
During these years they have conducted three courses in sewing and 2 computer.
The president of the Association Project Abraham, Nuria García, thanked the cooperation that the City provides to the association representing and commented that now the Abraham Project performs in Torre-Pacheco, collecting used clothing, shoes and toys through 36 containers placed throughout the municipality.
The NGO, retired during 2015, these containers more than 50,000 kilos of this waste, thus avoiding landfill had gone to the corresponding environmental impact.
In this case it is a Computer Workshop (basic level), with a duration of 40 hours, and has taught from 9:30 to 13:00 on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6 November to 18 December 2015 in the multimedia classroom of the Department of Employment and Local Development located in the Youth House.
They have participated in a total of 11 people (7 women and 4 men) unemployed residents in the municipality and derived from the Social Services Center.
All participants have successfully completed the training, having acquired new knowledge and skills in the use of computers and access to online resources that will facilitate both the job search and continue their education.
Participants have been very pleased with the training received and requested the completion of a course soon to continue completing their knowledge.
The Mayor of Torre-Pacheco, Antonio León after congratulating the course participants thanked the great work that Abraham Association Project takes place in our town, summoning them to continue working in the same line.
