The Rector UPCT Jose Antonio Franco, the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio Leon Garre, the Management Team of the School of Agricultural Engineering UPCT alongside technicians and members of the Municipal Corporation, visited the building polygon Dolores de Pacheco, with the intention to use space for R & D + i agricultural and development projects in collaboration with universities and business fabric.
The building, built with European funds under the Project TOP-Evolution, was launched by the previous government team, with a cost of 1.3 million euros and closed along with other great works of the city, including the Museum Paleontology and Human Evolution or old Municipal Archives Fontes- house, whose total cost amounts to over 11 million euros.
Garre Leon stressed the will of the City of Torre Pacheco to address the challenges the food industry to the region ahead, and has been extended to the entire university community UPCT invitation to work together on this project, the new administration intended to become a reference Agrifood Technology Centre in Murcia.
Garre Leon thanked Jose Antonio Franco his visit to Torre Pacheco, and both have been willing to continue to build bridges and to create opportunities for collaboration between the municipality of Torre Pacheco and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
