The Governing Council has approved a grant amounting to a total of 105,471 euros for the renovation and equipping of the centers available to municipalities for the operation of the Centre for Immigration of the Region of Murcia.
This action will allow the establishment of a Centre's headquarters in Torre Pacheco, with an investment of 55,471 euros, and a delegation in Lorca, funded with 50,000 euros, given the high rate of foreign population registered in both municipalities.
The Observatory for Immigration of the Region of Murcia is part of the 'Plan for the social integration of immigrants in the Region of Murcia 2006/2009', and aims to improve information systems and further develop a better understanding of profile of migrants residing in the Region of Murcia.
