The director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, and the secretary general of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Maria Luisa Lopez, accompanied by the Councillor for Youth of the Municipality of Torre Pacheco, Araceli Martinez, visited today youth involved in the field of intercultural work taking place in Torre Pacheco.
The field, which this year celebrates its sixth year, hosts a total of 14 youths, aged between 18 and 26 years, from different regions.
The volunteers, in collaboration with other youth associations and groups in the municipality, make socio-cultural activities aimed at children and young people.
From 16 to July 30 participants will share experiences with other young people involved in Torre Pacheco social initiatives and will launch animation skills workshops, drama, crafts, entertainment and leisure street alternative.
Veronica Lopez noted that "fieldwork activities aim to revitalize the cultural exchange with youth in the municipality from the values of coexistence and solidarity."
Complementary activities are organized excursions to La Manga del Mar Menor, Cartagena and Murcia and ethnological cultural activities with guided tours, cultural visits and workshops, recreational activities and entertainment.
The activities of the labor camps, along with the camps, are part of the campaign 'Summer Youth 2009' promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, through the Institute of Youth.
The total budget for this campaign is 500,000 euros, of which the Youth Institute provides € 410,000 and the Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo 90,000 euros.
