The Department completes its work on improving the MR-F23, which connects San Cayetano to El Mirador, and MR-F24, to The Los Sáez Romero, in the towns of Torre Pacheco and San Javier.
These roads have a high intensity of vehicles, especially in the summer months, surpassing the 2.5 million trips annually.
The Director of Roads, Jose Guijarro, accompanied by the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Daniel García Madrid, and the Mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia, visited the completion of works to improve the roads connecting San Cayetano to El Mirador ( MR-F23) and with The Los Sáez Romero (MR-F24), two routes connecting the towns of Torre Pacheco and San Javier, and the Ministry of Public Works and Planning has been conditioned to streamline and improve communications road safety in the Mar Menor.
The action has involved a total investment of 538,263 euros, and has been the expansion of road, which will materialize in more comfortable and safe travel.
The performance in the RM-F23 has been the improvement of the section located from the service road of the Mar Menor motorway (RM-19) to its intersection with the new highway Zeneta-San Javier (RM-1).
In the RM-F24 has been acting since the departure of the crossing of El Mirador to the border with the province of Alicante, in the vicinity of Lo Romero.
These actions will facilitate the movement of vehicles from the many farms in the area of Campo de Cartagena.
The works are included in the Conservation Plan of the Network of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
The works have had a lead time of four months, has affected a total of eight kilometers and have led to a widening of the road, which has grown from five to eight meters wide.
